Maya the Very Scary Hunter

I brought Maya to the park yesterday and we came upon a group of noisy geese. I assumed that Maya would have some interest in chasing and scaring theses geese (although I was a little afraid that they would turn on her and she would require rescuing). I brought Maya towards the geese and attempted to get her excited about chasing them. Maya had no interest in chasing them, and was much more interested in smelling the ground. Maya did manage to scare the entire flock into the water, but she did so completely by accident. Here she is post-goose-scaring. Maya is blissfully unaware of her successful attempts to terrify these foul waterfowl.

Just Trying to Fit In

Maya has always dreamed, since the day of her birth, of "playing in all the reindeer games." For Maya, her pink nose has not been the biggest barrier. On walks, Maya dreams of befriending the deer she sees grazing; she longs to run free with them. Finally, in a turn of events, Maya has grown a pair of antlers and is ready to go out and meet some nice deer friends. She now has what it takes to fit in with a crowd of deer. Maya's long time dream has finally been fulfilled.

Maya has found something wonderful, something to keep her warm on these cold winter nights--and it doesn't belong to her. She has taken to lying on a heated blanket on the couch, a holiday present that was supposed to be for her people. In fact, Maya has become so obsessed with this heated blanket that she will whimper and whine until someone turns on the heat for her. She will then curl up blissfully and fall asleep.










In these photos, she is lying stretched out on the recliner, wrapped in the heated blanket. She is simply enjoying a cold Sunday morning in the warmth of her home. The heat is on high and Maya is feeling comfy and cozy. She has us trained so well.

Maya Turns 4!

Here is a summary of Maya's birthday party in photos. Maya enjoyed a homemade cheddar biscuit, sat next to her birthday balloon, read her birthday cards (thoughtfully), and opened and enjoyed her presents. Happy 4th birthday Maya! I hope you enjoyed your birthday party!

Maya in Disguise (again)

Maya has taken on a new role and has been assigned to infiltrate a local high school. She believes that this hat will help her disguise herself as a teenage girl.

Maya believes that people will look past her furry face, long nose, and floppy ears as long as she acts the part. 

So, for this investigation she has learned to act like a teenage girl. She has mastered everything from gossiping to putting on makeup.
